The exhaust is still mounted to my car, but it looks like this: (except the muffler does not say 'perrin' on it and there is some discolouration on the muffler.

http://www.turboneonstore.com/customer/ ... t=0&page=1

I had it modified to add an additional flex pipe as the original perrin setup shook too much when driving.
Now its perfect.

3 inch isnt to big, i dunno who told you that. if it was to big, why there only 1 2.5 inch exhaust(mopar) and about 20 different 3 inch exhaust out there?

on the rtp website theres a guy named mufflerman(rob) he told me his exact words were" when u put a big exhaust on these 4 banger turbos u knock the wind right outta them, and 3 inch is too big it would be a really tight squeeze i'd go with a 2.5" if i were you" and then i went to santings ok tire to see about a custom 3" and he said pretty much the exact same thing, i was actually planning on getting the 3" maxxfab then they closed,so i saw a mopar loved how it sounded then this came up so it brings us to were we are now, you know more about this stuff then i do,i'm just telling you what i've heard

what?

3" is a MUST for all turbo application. you want to make the exhaust less restrictive, not more restrictive for the turbo.

I think you should listen to us especially when we've got experiences w/ the SRT since 04.

not to mention, here's proof w/in gains to be had from upgrading 2.5 to 3"

before 3"
http://www.srtforums.com/forums/f250/wa ... -a-499488/

after 3"
http://www.srtforums.com/forums/f250/wa ... ne-511958/

I think this 'mufflerman rob' is telling you this probably doesnt want to work w/ a 3" piping lol.

3 inch exhaust will help with spool and mid range power on a stock turbo. On the top end, there would still be some power gains, but they wouldn't be as noticeable as the low/mid range gains.

It is true that you need to be careful with exhaust sizing on a N.A car, but this is not true with a turbo car, as there is no exhaust scavenging going on.

Do you HAVE TO get a 3".. probably not, but it surely ain't gonna hurt on any turbo car. Don't listen to people who own N/A cars and think everything applies on all other cars... I still know bunch of guys who swear by their carbs and swear it's 3rd wonder of the world and look at fuel injection like it's devils work... Then I take my 4cyl turbo and walk past their 7L v8 :D

Anyone that tells you that 3" is too big needs to think again and/or understand more how a turbo works before making silly
statements like that.
